Hunger Free Food Pantry distributes baskets through Share the Joy of Christmas project

The Hunger Free Food Pantry distributed 30 Christmas baskets through the Share the Joy of Christmas project. Thanks to everyone who helped with and donated towards this project. We have received so many generous donations this year! Thank you to all who are sponsoring a child this year through the Food 4 Kids Backpack program. We are currently supplying seven kids with a backpack of food each weekend. We have also started a second helpings program to ensure that the free and reduced children are able to have seconds at breakfast and lunch if they are hungry. We normally cover the cost of around 250 second helpings each month. The Senior Commodity program is currently serving nine senior households and they receive food delivered to their homes every other month by one of our volunteers.

Because of your generosity, all the wonderful volunteers at the food pantry can continue the fight to end food insecurity in Eddy County!
