Poitra captured

Nicholas Poitra, the man police say shot and killed another man at Rindy's Bar in Sheyenne on Sunday, Feb. 19, has been taken into custody.

Eddy County Sheriff, Paul Lies, said Poitra was discovered at around noon on Wednesday, February 22, by a local farmer on County Road 12 in Eddy County, between 27th and 26th Street.

Lies said the farmer saw him walking and held him at gunpoint until law enforcement arrived.

Poitra is being transported to the Lake Region Law Enforcement Center in Devils Lake, N.D.

On Tuesday, Poitra was officially charged with AA Felony murder, as well as robbery with a firearm (a Class B felony), seven counts of terrorizing with a dangerous weapon (each a Class C felony), and unlawful possession of a firearm, also a Class C felony.
