NR-S archers competed at the Gackle-Streeter Bullseye Tournament in Gackle on Saturday, Feb. 18.
Layton Jacobson was back on top, not only among his teammates, but in the whole tournament. Jacobson scored a 284, the best overall of the tournament among the boys. He earned the gold medal in the middle school boys’ division as well.
Koy Zieman shot his highest score of the season, a 281, and finished third among the middle school boys. Lance Ziegler joined his teammates at the top of the middle school boys’ division, finishing fourth overall with a 280. That was a new personal best for Ziegler, as his previous high score was a 265 in Carrington earlier this season.
Bradyn Collier brought home the gold medal in the high school boys’ division with a score of 277. Teammate Mark McDowell got his second medal of the season, as he finished fourth among the high school boys with a score of 267.
Elementary archer Tyler Zieman shot his personal best in Gackle and finished fifth among the elementary boys with a score of 250.
Other top 10 finishers for the Rockets included Dakota Clelland (ninth in high school boys, 240), Kyria Dockter (sixth in high school girls, 266), Rikka Gudmunson (10th in high school girls, 259), Sawyer Huso (sixth in middle school boys, 273), August Meier (ninth in elementary boys, 243) and Taylin Jacobson (eighth in elementary girls, 222).
A total of 237 archers from 12 different schools competed in the tournament.
