Officiating was Pastor Paula Loewen. Special music was recorded music – "How Great Thou Art" by Alan Jackson and "Rock Of Ages" by Alan Jackson. Honorary bearers includ-ed all of Allyn's family and close friends.

Allyn was born February 6, 1935 to Ralph and Goldie (Christenson) Seastrand in Sheyenne, N.D. He attended country school near his farm home through eighth grade and attended high school in Sheyenne. During the school years of high school, he resided with his maternal aunt and uncle, Collie and Charles Stedman. An only child, Allyn found a sibling relationship with their only child, Dawn. Throughout life, they have maintained that close kinship. Allyn graduated from high school in 1953.

On July 2, 1960 he united in marriage to Clarise Jore. They were married for 44 years and farmed side by side until her death in 2004. To that union, two children were born, Shelly and Mark.

First and foremost, Allyn was a farmer. Even after sell-ing the farm to Mark, he still wanted to participate in the operations of farming. His wish was to die on the land he had been a part of his entire life. His failing health prevented that, much to his dismay.

Those who knew Allyn could attest to his remarkable memory. He was occasionally called upon to help with name, face and event recognition from historical photos. He frequently shared stories from his childhood and years of life to anyone who would listen. No one was around to dispute the details so they were presumed accurate and frequently proven to be true.

One could usually find Allyn in front of a loud TV, absorbing political news, views and current events. He enjoyed debating those subjects with anyone who was willing to participate. It was always best to know before engaging that his opinion was going to be the only correct one ...

Allyn held particular relationships very dear. He maintained contact with his first grade teacher until her death and then kept in communication with her family. He stayed in touch with his Seastrand cousins and was one of the last ones. A cousin's son, Ron Seastrand, and nephew Steve Jore also held a very special place in his heart.

Allyn resided the last six years at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. We, his family, would like to thank them for their tender daily care. He became very fond of several of the employees. You know who you are.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clarise; his parents, Ralph and Goldie Seastrand; father-in-law, Carl Jore and mother-in-law, Nora Lillevig.

He is survived by daughter, Shelly (Wayne) Ryberg; son, Mark (Luann) Seastrand; "sister" cousin, Dawn (Robert) Boyd; brother-in-law, Norman (Delores) Jore; grandchildren, Chad Ryberg (LaShane Wobbema), Cherisa (Tim) Berger and Dinah Seastrand and great-grandchildren, Nora Berger, Dani Berger, Peyton Ryberg, and Henry Allyn Berger – his namesake.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Riverside Cemetery, Sheyenne, N.D.
