On May 14, the people of First Lutheran Church celebrated with seven young people as they confirmed their faith in Jesus and said "yes" to the promises made by their parents at their baptism.
This meaningful day of commitment was the culmination of three years of learning, service and fellowship. Areas of study included Martin Luther and the Reformation, Luther's Small Catechism, the Apostle Paul and the early church, and the teachings and life of Jesus.
Throughout their confirmation journey they wrestled with issues of faith, asking important questions about God, faith, life and the church. They also practiced a living faith by doing service projects that blessed people near and far in Jesus' name, and by growing in Christian fellowship with one another and their adult leaders.
