With the summer rapidly heating up, the pool opened just in time for the first swimmers to enjoy the pool’s cool water on Thursday, June 1, with temperatures approaching 90 degrees.
The New Rockford Park District sent a water sample from the pool to the state for testing in Bismarck, and a few days later the word came back that the water was safe for swimming.
The pool’s hours of operation are as follows.

• Adult lap swim 5:15 – 6:15 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday:

Those interested in taking multiple trips to the pool this summer can purchase an individual season swim pass for $100 or a family season swim pass for $250.
New Rockford Park District Director Dennis Nybo said he’s excited to see kids and community members back in the pool, but said he could still use extra help.
Anyone interested in working this summer as a lifeguard, or at the front desk/concession stand are encouraged to pick up an application at New Rockford City Hall.
Meanwhile, baseball practices are underway, and the SNR Babe Ruth and Legion baseball schedule was released by the park district last week.
The first week of Babe Ruth baseball has the Black Sox opening their season against Nelson County in Tolna at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 5, before taking on LaMoure and Lidgerwoord in a double header in LaMoure on Wednesday, June 7 at 1 p.m.
The Black Sox Legion team, meanwhile, will kick off the summer season in Cando at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, before hosting Carrington on Thursday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m.
