Outdoor notes:

*June 24: Ducks Unlimited Fun Shoot, Capital City Sporting Clays, Bismarck, 1 p.m.

*June 24 and 25: N.D. Geocache Association, Caching & Camping, Lake Sakakawea State Park, Pick City

Tournaments:

*June 23: Devils Lake, Grahams Island State Park; Red River, North Forks Landing.

*June 24 and 25: Pipestem Reservoir, Parkhurst Landing.

Fishing:

*Devils Lake elevation, June 13: 1,450.64 feet above mean sea level (MSL).

*Stump Lake elevation: 1,450.54 MSL.

*Lake Sakakawea elevation: 1,835.31 MSL; 21,700 cubic feet per second average (CFS) Garrison Dam daily releases.

*N.D. Game and Fish Dept. Dist. game wardens: No new reports.

*Devils Lake, Ed’s Bait Shop, Devils Lake: Continued fair to good walleye success throughout much of Devils Lake.

*Devils Lake, Lakeview Lodge, Minnewaukan: Continued good walleye activity although clearer water in Devils Lake main bays has anglers working farther into bays, including Pelican Lake and Howard’s Bay. Try a variety of presentations and bait with overall fair to good success.

*Devils Lake, West Bay Resort, Minnewaukan: Continued fair to good walleye success.

*Devils Lake, Woodland Resort, Devils Lake: Continued fair to good for walleye. Try shallow slip bobbers in shallow water, 10 feet or less. Pike also mixed in with walleye. Lake in general has a lot of activity along the bridges yet and south end of Minnewaukan Flats.

*Foster County area lakes, Dry Dock, Carrington: Increasing activity on area lakes but overall success still somewhat slow.

*Jamestown Reservoir, Sooper Stop, Jamestown: Lots of activity throughout area lakes, including Jamestown and Pipestem reservoirs, with minnows and nightcrawlers. Lots of activity throughout area lakes, including Jamestown and Pipestem reservoirs, with minnows and nightcrawlers.

*Lake Ashtabula, The Hungry Pelican at the Crossing, Luverne: Fair to good in the shallows for bass and other panfish. Try jigs and minnows or nightcrawlers.

*Lake Ashtabula, Bayshore, Valley City: Overall good success for a mix of bass and pike with increasing numbers of bluegill. Not many walleye reports yet.

*Lake Sakakawea, Cenex Bait & Tackle, Garrison: Fair to good for walleye from the east end of Lake Sakakawea working west to Berthold Bay. Work shallow in 6 to 8 feet using a variety of presentations. Also try casting towards the shoreline. No reports from Lake Audubon.

*Lake Sakakawea, Indian Hills Resort, Garrison: Work the north side of Lake Sakakawea in 8 to 10 feet around the flats using a mix of minnows or nightcrawlers with steady limits of walleye.

*Lakes Audubon & Sakakawea, Hwy. 83 Lawn & Leisure, Garrison: East end of Lake Sakakawea generally fair to good for walleye, especially working the mouth of Steinke and Centennial bays. Try 8 to 12 feet using slow death hooks and bottom bouncers with nightcrawlers. Also try west around Douglas Bay in the mouth in similar depths and presentations. Work deeper in 15 to 25 feet on Lake Audubon for walleye.

*Lake Sakakawea/Lake Audubon/Missouri River, Scott’s Bait and Tackle, Pick City: Missouri River remains slow from both boat and shore. East end of Lake Sakakawea fair to good for walleye with most anglers working the north shore, including Steinke and Douglas bays. Try nightcrawlers or minnows as well as plastics in 10 feet and shallower.

*Lonetree WMA area lakes, Harvey: Try 8 to 9 feet for walleye using a variety of presentations with anglers finding slow to fair success throughout area lakes and good numbers of fish at times. Hinsz Lake boat ramp unusable while a new concrete ramp is installed.

N.D. river data:

*James River, Kensal: River stage, 4.54 feet; streamflow, 218 CFS.

*Pipestem Creek, Pingree: Creek elevation, 5.58 feet; streamflow, 78.3 CFS.

*Red River, Grand Forks: River stage, 18.47 feet; streamflow, 6,480 CFS.

*Sheyenne River, Warwick: River stage, 3.98 feet; streamflow, 286 CFS.
