From Sunday, June 11, through Tuesday, June 13, the New Rockford-Sheyenne/Maddock Rockets football team participated in the Valley City State University Team Camp.
A total of 17 players attended the camp in Valley City, where they practiced drills, scrimmaged with other 9-man teams, and competed in a 20-team tournament.
The rules of the tournament were just like that of overtime in high school football, and it was the Rockets that came out on top!
This camp was the first time the new NR-S and Maddock football co-op was in action, and they showed a lot of teams just how strong they could be this fall.
Head Coach Elliott Belquist said it was great to see the Maddock and NR-S kids getting along, and remarked about how nice it was to see so many kids in attendance.
The NR-S/M Rockets are attending another football camp at the University of North Dakota this week.
