Black Sox Babe Ruth Baseball has been on a roll of late.
After winning two in a row against May-Port and Thompson, the Sox hosted Kidder County at home on Wednesday, June 28.
On the mound for New Rockford was Thomas Allmaras, and after Skye Kramlich delivered a 1-hitter in their last game, it was now Allmaras' turn to keep their opponents in check.
Allmaras pitched all seven innings for his team, and would only give up 5 hits and allow just two earned runs. Of course, that made things easier for the Sox' offense after an explosive second inning.
After going down in order to start the game, the Black Sox began the bottom of the second inning with two consecutive singles courtesy of Dashyl Bichler and Jackson Schumacher, followed by a hit-by-pitch on Layton Jacobson to load the bases.
That set up two runs to score on a walk and sacrifice fly, which was followed by RBI singles from Kramlich and Alex Weisenburger, giving New Rockford a 6-run second inning.
More RBI singles and a few Kidder County errors allowed three more Black Sox runners to cross home plate in the third inning, stretching their lead even more.
Kidder County managed a couple runs courtesy of defensive errors, but with Allmaras largely keeping the opposing lineup in check, nine runs was all the Sox needed to win their third consecutive game. The final score was 9-4.
Standing out on offense yet again for the Sox was Kramlich with two hits and two RBIs, as well as Allmaras, who earned two hits and one RBI.
Afterwards, the Sox headed to Cando on Friday, June 30 in hopes of continuing their win streak, but unfortunately for them they couldn't keep up with Cando's offense.
They lost the Cando game by a score of 5-11, bringing their overall score so far this season to 4-6.
