Sheyenne News: July 17, 2023

Jeff and Denise Labrensz's granddaughter, Vivian (Vivee) Marie Pfeiffer, decided that July 1 was a good day to make her presence known. Grandma Denise was super excited since this was her birthdate also. Vivee is as sweet as ever and has dark hair and chubby cheeks just like her momma had when she was born! She is the daughter of Matt and Allison Pfeiffer of New Rockford and joins two big brothers at home.

Steve Loe, his daughter Madison and her friend Joe, of Lincoln, Neb., came to Sheyenne for the Fourth of July and a visit with Steve's mom Jan Loe and his sister Steph. Madison and Joe stayed several days before returning to Lincoln. Steve and little Buddy, his puppy, stayed until the 10th for a nice long visit.

Parade winners at this year's Independence Day parade in Sheyenne were SNR alumni band, most entertaining; Eddy County VFW, most patriotic; Ed Gilderhus, antique vehicle; and Roger Eversvik's team, best horse entry.

The annual Fourth of July Pit Beef BBQ was once again a huge success with 521 people plus the workers served. It is always a great meal prepared and served by the Sheyenne Fire Department and church ladies, all volunteering their work and time.

July 3 visitors at the home of Jerry and Joan Cudworth were Dan and Verna Mangin of West Fargo, Lee and Yvonne Olson of Oregon. It was a great visit!

On Friday, July 7, Joan Cudworth picked up Patti Clifton and they drove to Devils Lake. The gals enjoyed lunch at Applebee's with lots of visiting/catching up. They did a little Walmart shopping before returning to Sheyenne later in the afternoon.

Monday morning, Patti Clifton kept an appointment at Carrington Health Center. She did a little browsing at a couple of stores there as well as a stop at the grocery store before returning home.
