BSC recognizes Spring 2023 graduates

More than 560 students graduated with degrees from Bismarck State College after completing the Spring 2023 semester. The graduates were recognized at the college's 83rd commencement ceremony held on May 12, 2023, at the Bismarck Event Center.

Students who completed the coursework to earn degrees from BSC in Fall 2022 and Summer 2023 were also eligible to walk across the stage during the commencement ceremony to receive their diplomas.

The BSC 2023 Commencement speaker was Brent Sanford, who served as the 38th lieutenant governor of North Dakota from 2016 to 2023. The student speaker was Jenna Rust from Alkabo, N.D., graduating with an Associate in Arts degree, an Associate in Science degree and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Agriculture Industry and Technology. The 2023 BSC Commencement ceremony was recorded and is available on the BSC website.

BSC Spring 2023 graduates include:

• Denise Bull, Carrington, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Human Services and a Certificate in Eligibility Worker;

• Michael Clifton, Carrington, N.D., graduated with a Certificate in Welding;

• Seth Dinius, Fessenden, N.D., graduated with a Certificate in Carpentry (Residential);

• Matthew Duchscherer, New Rockford, N.D., graduated with a Certificate in Welding;

• William Fleming, Warwick, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning;

• Taryn Hoeckle, Carrington, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Associate Degree Nurse;

• Kambree Kvamme, Carrington, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Science degree;

• Elizabeth Lee, Carrington, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Agriculture Industry and Technology;

• Lea Mittleider, Carrington, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Farm and Ranch Management (Agribusiness).
