Sheyenne GRIT held a community meeting on Saturday, Nov 4, for locals to tour the project house. People were particularly impressed with how the freshly refinished floors shine! Logan Hegland, of Diamond Hardwood Flooring, LLC out of Bismarck, completed the work. Logan is connected to the area with family in Sheyenne. Now that the house is complete, photos of the interior will be going up on Zillow.
The GRIT board welcomed new board chairperson Sharon Whitmer to serve as head of the marketing committee. President Patti Larson expressed gratitude to the 25 different volunteers that put in over 450 hours of their time on the house. Some lent tools, others shared skills and many rolled up their sleeves and got to work. This complimented the efforts of many local contractors to make the house into a move-in ready home. Committee members also shared updates on the nonprofit’s goals for this winter and plans to do more projects. Sheyenne GRIT accepts tax deductible donations. Those wishing to donate skills, time or other resources are encouraged to reach out to any of the board members or Patti at (701) 996-3531.
Sheyenne area farmers are harvesting high moisture corn in snowy and muddy fields. Many are having to load trucks on the road to avoid getting stuck. The county road conditions have also been very tough.
Linda’s This and That Shop, located on Main Street Sheyenne, will be closing for the winter. Shoppers have until Nov. 12 to stop in. The store, located in the former Colleen’s Country Curl, has been open since July and is a popular stop for, well … “this and that.”
Patti Clifton was in Carrington on Monday afternoon where she kept a medical appointment at Carrington Health Center Clinic and Hospital. She also did some shopping before and after her appointment.
