Grapplers beat Northwood, Rugby in duals; 3rd at Velva

Carrington boys' wrestlers took the mats for a pair of duals Thursday night, Nov. 30, in the East Gym with new Region 2 opponents Northwood and Rugby, and came away with 24-3 and 48-12 victories.

There was no time to rest, however, as they boarded the bus for the two-day Velva Invitational, and the condensed format of the weekend yielded many Cardinal points and two champions.

Jayden Broadwell (127 pounds) and Corbin Clifton (152) each won their respective weight classes in Velva, and the Cards scored 304 points to place third overall behind tournament winner Northern Lights and runner-up Velva.
