Christmas cheer around New Rockford

This past week there were plenty of opportunities for kids and their families to partake in some holiday fun. Annual events included Kindergarten Gingerbread Day on Dec. 8, Santa Day on Dec. 9 and Shop with the Sheriff on Dec. 11. Here are a few scenes from the festivities.

On Monday, Dec. 11, the Eddy County Sheriff's Office once again put on their annual "Shop with the Sheriff" event.

Every year, Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies and his deputies escort the kids around town in their police trucks and cruisers, stopping at local businesses, where the kids can select from a fantastic selection of Christmas toys and goodies in New Rockford.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, residents of the Lutheran Home of the Good Shephard welcomed area youth and community members for the Community Christmas Sing-Along.

The group got together at the Vance Anderson Hall and spread their holiday spirit with classic Christmas tunes.
