On Tuesday, Dec 19, Patti Larson visited neighbor Bobby Scott in the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford to bring him a quilt from the Sheyenne community quilters.
On Christmas Day, after attending the community dinner, John, Andrea and Chase Larson stopped at Patti and Peter Larson's to visit. The snow and ice storm caused John’s family to stay an extra day in Devils Lake with Andrea’s dad before they could make it home to Fargo.
On Dec. 27, Jan Loe was in Brocket at the home of Jason Stenberg to visit with Dennis and Laurel Allen and their daughter Ashley and her children, and Jason.
On Thursday, Dec. 28, Patti, Peter, Joanna and Sandra Larson, Ian and Cameron Gilley had “station lunch” at Route 281 before heading out for an afternoon of sledding on Penguin Hill. The hill, roughly 10 miles west of Sheyenne, had near perfect conditions for calf sleds to travel the approximately 200m route. Peter and Patti doubling up, set the day record for distance going far out into the soybean field.
Community members were welcomed to a shop party hosted by Leann Drake on Saturday, Dec. 30. Neighbors played cards, games, and visited over pulled pork sandwiches and many holiday treats.
New Year's Eve afternoon was a fun time of visiting, games, coffee and treats at the Sheyenne Senior Center. Those attending also enjoyed a pizza supper and Jeff's homemade sausage.
Jan Loe and Steph met Jason Stenberg in Devils Lake for noon lunch at Applebee's on New Year's Day. On Tuesday, they traveled to Fargo.
Patti Clifton kept an appointment in New Rockford on Tuesday afternoon. She stopped for coffee at the Senior Center before returning home.
