David Allan Thompson, age 55, of Franktown, Colo., passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2024. He was born on June 18, 1968, in New Rockford, N.D., the son of Doris (Lucht) and Malcolm Thompson. David married Karen Tocco on August 31, 2002. A fun fact about David and Karen: They dated for thirteen years before becoming married.

David worked as an aircraft mechanic for most of his life. After graduation, David attended North Dakota Aerotech to obtain his A&P license. He then moved to St. Louis to begin the career he loved so much.

Survivors include his wife Karen, daughter Kaitlyn, and son Jack, all of Franktown, Colo.; brothers Michael (Jill), Wayne (Lori), Kenneth (Luann) and Rodney (Karen); sister Deborah Bush; father-in-law James Tocco, brother-in-law Tim Tocco, sisters-in-law Pattie Timmermann and Cindy Fitzgerald, and many nieces and nephews.

David was proceeded in death by his father Malcolm Thompson, mother Doris Thompson, and his mother-in-law, Janice Tocco.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 28, 2024, in Parker, Colo.
