Cooperstown was the tournament of choice for the Rockets on Saturday, Feb. 17. NR-S archers competed in both bullseye and 3D, and more than two dozen of them ended the day on the leaderboard in their respective divisions.
In the bullseye tournament, Layton Jacobson led the way for the Rockets. He scored a 294, the best out of all the boys, and took home the gold medal and Overall Male Archer award.
Bradyn Collier finished in second place among high school boys with a 282.
Sawyer Huso scored a 277 and ended up in third place among middle school boys.
Taylin Jacobson had the top score among the Rocket girls. Her 259 was good enough for third place in the middle school girls' division. Raegyn Lange was right behind Taylin with 257 points and a fourth place finish.
Eleven other Rocket archers finished in the top 10 at the bullseye tournament:
In the high school division, Eli Alfstad (258) was 10th among the boys and Rikka Gudmunson (257) came in 10th place among the girls.
Rockets archers Koy Zieman (274), August Meier (270) and Braylon Alfstad (268) took the fifth, sixth and seventh spots in the middle school boys' division, respectively.
Kaylynn Chamberlain scored a 254, good enough for sixth place among middle school girls.
Cordell Myhre had the best score, 242, among the elementary archers and finished in seventh place. Trey Zieman's 237 earned him ninth place overall.
Three elementary girls also had top 10 finishes: Lydia Huso (229), Dylan Cudworth (225) and Alexa Allmaras (199), finished in seventh, eighth and 10th place, respectively.
In the 3D tournament, seventh grader Braylon Alfstad had the best showing for the Rockets. He finished in first place among middle school boys with a 286.
Layton Jacobson was right behind Alfstad, scoring a 285 and taking the top spot among high school boys.
Taylin Jacobson set the bar for the Rocket girls in 3D with a 245. She finished in second place among middle school girls.
All totaled, 19 NR-S archers had top 10 finishes in the 3D tournament: six in each the high school and middle school divisions and seven in the elementary.
