Munson named Employee of the Month

The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce recognized Tiffany Munson for her excellent work as the administrative assistant at the NDSU Extension Eddy County office located in New Rockford. She was named Employee of the Month for March on Tuesday.

A 1991 graduate of New Rockford High School, Munson is now going into her fifth year as administrative assistant for NDSU Extension and Eddy County 4-H, helping with many of their activities that occur throughout the year.

Munson said much of her work involves event planning, such as 4-H Achievement Days, 4-H Roundup and the annual roast beef dinner during the Steam Threshers Reunion, just to name a few.

Munson said she has particularly enjoyed working with 4-H families over the years and getting to know the kids involved with 4-H.

On occasion, she said she also gets to embrace her creative side.

"Being the creative type, I enjoy producing the Facebook posts and posters for 4-H events," she said.

Munson recently created the poster for the Spring Fever Garden Forum taking place at the end of March and beginning of April, which is being hosted via Zoom at the Extension office in Eddy County – just another example of a unique community event Munson helps make possible.

Her work is imperative to the success of many activities local residents have come to enjoy, not to mention the day-to-day functionality of the NDSU Extension office.

Meanwhile, Munson also volunteers with the Eddy County Trail Riders and the 4-H Cloverbuds.

The anonymous individual who nominated Munson for the award certainly recognized Munson's hard work and dedication, and the boost she provided at the NDSU Extension Office.

"Tiffany does above and beyond her job. She does a lot to help her 4-Hers and families. She is the one that does the advertising for Achievement Days and our roast beef meal during steam threshers."

Chamber of Commerce board members Emma Myhre and Andrew Presnell surprised Munson with the honor on Tuesday, March 12 in her office.

"I was very shocked!" she said. "It's really an honor, so whoever nominated me, thank you very much. It's a pleasant surprise!"
