As the month of March draws to a close, the Easter Bunny is looking forward to its favorite holiday!
Here in New Rockford, there will be several Easter activities for local residents and youth to participate in.
In addition to the Chamber's annual hunt for the "golden egg," there will be a community-wide Easter egg hunt put together by Mindy's Clubhouse and Wonder Lanes bowling alley, to take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30.
The event will be a "free for all" for children ages 1-12, and will take place at the Gazebo in Centennial Park, between 1st Avenue North and Central Avenue in downtown New Rockford.
And of course, a community favorite will be returning this year – The New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce's "Hunt for the Golden Egg."
A single golden egg will again be hidden somewhere in New Rockford, and residents will see clues posted once a day on the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce's Facebook page and the electronic sign downtown.
Whoever finds the golden egg first can bring it to the Transcript office at 817 Central Avenue in New Rockford, and receive $50 in Chamber Bucks for their efforts.
This year's hunt will begin on Monday, March 25, and as always a new clue will be posted each day through Friday or until the egg is found.
Meanwhile, an Easter brunch will be held on Sunday, March 31 from 8-9:45 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in New Rockford, with proceeds going toward a youth gathering trip to New Orleans this summer.
First Lutheran and other local churches in New Rockford will also have a special Easter services throughout the week. See this week's church calendar on page 5 for more information.
