Hailey Nicole Crosswhite – Wasté Dákapí Win, Everyone Loves Her – age 30, our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece and friend of Fargo, N.D. began her heavenly journey on March 24, 2024, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo surrounded by her loved ones.
Hailey's visitation was held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 1-3:30 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford followed by a visitation at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at St. Michael Rec Center, St. Michael, N.D. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Rec Center, St. Michael. Her burial will be held later in the spring. Fr. Paul Schuster officiated with special music by all drum groups. Escorts were Michayla Goodvoice and Jayden Lovejoy. Pallbearers were Wyatt Allmaras, Austin Schuchard, Dawn Black, Bridget Baker, Leah Camery, Casie Holzworth, Taylor Clark, Megan Wester and Kaylin Lucy. Honorary bearers were Zach Lucy, John Ferrie, Amarah Stevenson, Freddy Gallardo, Anthony Leone, Marisa Oien, Shannon Solem, Sandy Malzahn, Savannah Miller, Jeremy Rainbow, Kylie Gourneau-Jetty, Monte Gehrtz, Jacee Johnston, Noah (Kaitlyn) Herman, Lonna and Richard Street, Leona Owlboy, Belinda Murphy, Arliss Krulish, Carolyn Krulish, Jenny Jacobson, Dr. Gupta and his medical team, all employment and training staff, all of Converdia Health staff, Spirit Lake Tribal Council and Spirit Lake Tribal Health. We apologize if there is anyone we forgot to mention, it was not intentional, please forgive us during this difficult time.
Hailey was born on July 16, 1993, in Devils Lake, N.D. Hailey was raised in New Rockford, N.D., and graduated high school in New Rockford in 2011. While in high school she worked at the Mick's 281 Service. She also obtained her EMT and CNA license. After high school graduation, she began employment at SLT CHR program. She then started work at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford as the Activities Director. In 2014 she moved to Fargo, N.D., and started working at the New Perspective Home as the Activities Director. In March of 2022 Hailey began working for her current employer, Converdia Health as the Lead Recruiter.
Hailey loved to travel and attend music festivals, she traveled to places like the Twin Cities, Denver, Orlando and Nashville to name a few, and got her rave on. In her teenage years, Hailey was a pageant queen. She was the 2011 Miss North Dakota Collegiate and participated in the National Pageant. In her spare time, Hailey volunteered at the Homeward Animal Shelter and was a strong advocate for fostering and adopting sheltered pets. In 2020, she became a dog mom to her fur baby, Dexy, whom she showered with love. In 2022, Hailey was awarded the Converdia Health staffing People's Choice Award and the Git-R-Done Award in 2023.
In January of 2023, Hailey was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Hailey's goal was to bring breast cancer awareness to all women. She worked with the Women's Way and also promoted awareness on social media.
Hailey is survived by the love of her life, Josh Solem; mother, Jolene (Ray) Crosswhite; father, Gary (Lori) Crosswhite; brothers, Jeff Lenior Jr., Jared (Alyssa) Goodvoice, Austin (Jaekel) Crosswhite; sisters, Marissa (Jay) Goodvoice, Rayann (Mikey) Greene; grandparents, Ramona (Ron) Cannon, Pam Crosswhite and Eileen "Anna" Littleghost; uncles, Dennis (Carrie) Greywater, Scottie (Melissa) Cannon, Frank Jason Greene, Carl "Sparky" (Mandi) McKay, Daniel (Delana) Herman, Vinson (Wanda) Littleghost, Waylon "Bud" (Renita) Shaw, Chris (Lora) Cavanaugh, Sean and Geri Crosswhite; aunts, June Yankton, Gwen Hlavac, Robin (Duane) Smith, Emmy Littlewind, Jennifer (Wayne) Black, Dixie (Mitch) Omen, Marnie (Joseph) Lawrence, Sheila (Todd) Belgarde, Lucy (Mike) Roberts, Felicia Cavanaugh, Lori (Frank) Gourd, Lori (Louis) Navarette, Corrina Shaw, Laurie Bordeaux, Janet Thomas, Sandra Bercier; nephews, Jayden and Grayson; and nieces, Michayla, Kenslie and Lilly.
She is preceded in death by her grandpas, Garry Gourd and William Crosswhite; aunt, Margo Gourd; uncle, Loren Gourd; great-grandparents, Dennis and Susie Cavanaugh, Melvina and Jacob Gourd, Judi Ami, Marlene Anderson, Kenneth Gourd, Duane Cavanaugh, Ernestine and Dan Herman, Bernice and Charlie John Cavanaugh, Janice and Carl McKay, Angeline Shaw, Herbert Rainbow, Ambrose Littleghost and Benedict Littleghost; and Hunka brother, Quentin Lovejoy.
A special thanks to Dr. Gupta, Sanford Oncology Department, Roger Maris Cancer Center, the special care Hailey received in the Hospice House at Sanford, Willard Yellowbird and all her many friends and family. Hailey was so loved.
