Chamber recognizes Skjeret as Employee of the Month for April

For years, Brook Skjeret has been helping area residents make some of their biggest financial decisions.

As the loan processor at Community Credit Union, Skjeret has always aimed to do what's best for members. And it hasn't gone unnoticed.

On Tuesday, April 16, the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce recognized Skjeret as April's employee of the month.

"She always has a smile on her face! Any question I have for her she has an answer for!" wrote the anonymous individual who nominated Skjeret for the award.

"I appreciate how knowledgeable she is and how she is always willing to go above and beyond to assist me in my personal banking needs! I also appreciate how active she is in the community!"

Skjeret was surprised with the honor at her New Rockford office on Tuesday, April 16.

"I was shocked!" exclaimed Skjeret. "It feels really good to have people feel like they can come to me and get the answers and get the help that they want. It's an honor."

A native of Dazey, N.D., Skjeret moved to New Rockford in 2013 originally to work at Bank Forward, having already worked at Bank Forward in Jamestown and Carrington.

She later transitioned to the Community Credit Union (CCU) in 2017 and has been making a positive impression ever since.

Skjeret said she has particularly enjoyed helping her customers through significant purchases, which are often among the most important decisions an individual or family can make.

"Helping people buy their first home, or getting their first vehicle, and helping them through that process," said Skjeret about what she enjoys most about working at CCU.

As the loan processor, Skjeret goes through consumer loan applications and makes sure all requirements are met and that the necessary paperwork is taken care of.

And of course, she's always helping people through the process and answering whatever questions they might have.

This August, Skjeret will celebrate seven years on the job at CCU, and she expressed her gratitude toward the whole community for making her feel welcome here in New Rockford.

"Just thanks to the community for letting this be my home," she said. "I just feel very at home and at peace in New Rockford."
