Letter to the Editor: May 6, 2024

District 14 residents,

Let’s set the record straight.

A recent letter to the editor is trying to paint a misleading picture that we are not conservatives. The letter’s “evidence,” is linked to a cherry-picked, bogus scorecard. This scorecard is blatant deception and does not deserve more attention or time. However, the voters of District 14 don’t deserve to be misled and are owed the truth.

This scorecard excludes many bills and votes that provided a direct benefit to District 14 residents and businesses. Diving further into the data, this scorecard implies that conservatives in North Dakota should:

• Ignore a balanced budget

• Not support law enforcement

• Not support military members and veterans

• Not protect children from abuse

• Ignore mental and behavioral health needs in the state

• Not support key agriculture initiatives

• Not support rural healthcare

This is the sort of absurd, dishonest political tactic that has no place amongst good neighbors in North Dakota.

We serve the voters of District 14. Rural North Dakota needs leaders who serve constituents and not extremist ideological scorecard.

Serving the voters of District 14 has been the utmost honor and we have never taken it for granted. We humbly ask for the chance to serve one last term. Please vote on June 11, 2024.
