Patti Larson took in the May birthday party at the Heritage House in New Rockford last Tuesday. Her mom, Marge Anderson, was one of three that celebrated their May birthdays.

Dianne Hanson and Patti Larson stopped at the home of Debbie Wetzel after the news of Dennis Bergrud's passing. Our condolences to all of his family and friends.

Two more apple trees, both Honeycrisp, were planted at the Prairie Dawn Community Orchard, along with five rows of Honey Select sweet corn and one row of cucumbers in the community garden this week. The rains have been plentiful so that takes care of the watering!

The 20 new trees are leafing out nicely at Hendrickson Park. The mulching around each tree was finished on Wednesday. The next step will be to put a fence barrier around each tree to protect from deer for the first several years. Area ranchers, with fencing experience, will be asked to help out if available.

Gene Langley passed away after his long battle with cancer. Peter, Patti and Joanna Larson were among neighbors, family and friends who attended the celebration of life service at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Devils Lake last Friday afternoon. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Devin and Julianna Melang sold bingo cards for the Sheyenne Fire Dept. on Saturday night. Jeff Labrensz called only 54 numbers for the $175 blackout to be won. Darlene Kolstad and Dianne Hanson served lunch. The fire dept. hosts again this Saturday, with a $175 blackout as well.

Grandfield Lutheran Church held a SOAM joint worship service on June 2, as Pastor Jeff was at the Synod Assembly in Fargo. Darrel Anderson led the service and gave the sermon. Terry Winning read the Scripture lessons and Mary Ellen Rue was organist. All enjoyed coffee and goodies (including rhubarb dessert) and fellowship following worship.

Peter and Patti Larson drove to Fillmore Sunday evening to attend a reception for Cathy Jelsing of Rugby. Jelsing is a Dem. NPL candidate to represent District 14 in the state legislature. Rugby Kitchen Cabinet served delicious food to those in attendance.
