BSC offers online class for high school journalists

This fall semester, Bismarck State College is offering an online section of COMM 200: Introduction to Media Writing. High school students who are interested in journalism and possibly writing for their local newspapers may enroll and earn early entry college credit.

The course introduces writing styles and forms required in journalism, broadcast, online media, public relations and advertising. Students gather, organize and write news stories using Associated Press style and learn about the media process through the applied process of publication.

College students enrolled in the class will submit stories for the BSC student news publication, The Mystician. High school students will submit stories to their local news outlets.
