A week ago, Jan and Steph Loe joined Jim and Marjean Woodrow and Pam Hill for a drive up to Sarles and Calvin to check on the Woodrow/McBain family gravesites.

Sheyenne condolences go out to family and friends of Donna Weber whose graveside service was held last Wednesday at the Nystrom Cemetery, rural Sheyenne.

Sorting and marking rummage items kept the 14 Sheyenne residents who are having a sale busy. Patti Larson continues to receive calls from vendors. Ed Houston of Sutton, one of the original "Good Junk & Stuff" flea market vendors, will be in Sheyenne at the Sidewalk Market on August 10. Anyone can put out free stuff on the curbs.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, Marliss Platz had her donuts and jellies along with some produce and other baked goods at the Sheyenne Farmers Market on Main Street. Four vegetable growers, along with Marliss, will bring fresh pickings fon Saturday, Aug. 10.

They are painting the town green! Sara, of Right Direction Properties, put the finishing touches on buildings two and three of Sheyenne Village apartments. Green with white trim and stained wood accents around the entrances set off the newly-installed windows and French doors.

Gavin Brown continues the restoration work on the old Sinclair station with the green paint along the bottom, and black window and door trim. It really looks sharp, as he did meticulous prep work and scraping.

Patti Larson enjoyed coffee and a visit with Marilynn Kruger last Friday morning.

Dianne Hanson called bingo, Kathy Albrecht and Bob Hanson sold cards and Darlene Kolstad served lunch at Saturday night bingo at Ostby Hall. Saturday, Aug. 10, the blackout will be $200 when Sheyenne Civic Association again hosts the evening.

Last Saturday, Jan and Steph Loe were in Minnewaukan to watch the Rock the Lake Parade. They were guests at the Hill summer home there and enjoyed the parade and visiting with Jim and Marjean Woodrow and Brian Hill.

Monday afternoon, Patti Clifton and Jan Loe did a couple of errands in New Rockford and enjoyed a cup of coffee at Rockford Café. Later, they stopped for a visit at the home of Jerry and Joan Cudworth.

Don't forget – lunch will be served at Ostby Hall during the Sheyenne Sidewalk Market and City-Wide Rummage Sales on Saturday, Aug. 10, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Darlene's fresh caramel rolls, along with other homemade bars will complement the BBQs, nachos, shipwrecks and more. Kids' games with prizes will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Open Season Lodge playground. Vendors and Farmers Market are along Main Street with rummage sales at various locations around town.

Sunday night, Aug. 4, rain showers ended a pretty good stretch of haying weather last week. Thousands of bales were put up along the Sheyenne River valley.
