BSC recognizes Spring 2024 graduates

More than 550 students graduated with degrees from Bismarck State College, in Bismarck, N.D., after completing the Spring 2024 semester. The graduates were recognized at the college's 84th commencement ceremony held on May 10, 2024, at the Bismarck Event Center.

Students who completed the coursework to earn degrees from BSC in Fall 2023 and Summer 2024 were also eligible to walk across the stage during the commencement ceremony to receive their diplomas.

The 2024 BSC Commencement speaker was BSC Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Deb Hoistad. Originally from Havana, N.D., Hoistad was a Mystics three-sport athlete from 1975 to 1977. The student speaker was Kaia Lehman from Dickinson, N.D., graduating with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Graphic Design and Communications. BSC Spring 2024 local area graduates include:

• Nicholas Berglund, New Rockford, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Agriculture Industry and Technology

• Chloe Guthmiller, Cathay, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Arts

• Levi Hoyt, Tolna, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Farm and Ranch Management

• Garin Opdahl, Fessenden, N.D., graduated with an Associate in Applied Science in Agriculture Industry and Technology

• Noah Paulson, Carrington, N.D., graduated with a Certificate in Computer Networking and a Certificate in Security and Hacking

• Calvin Sisson, Carrington, N.D., graduated with a Certificate in Lineworker (Electrical)
