Patti Larson visited Marilynn Kruger at Room 6, Grace Lane, Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford on Wednesday. Later in the week, Joanna and Patti helped Margo pick melons and tomatoes at the Kruger farm.

Eddy County 4-H Roundup awards night and supper was held this year at the New Rockford Eagles Club. Several Sheyenne families attended as the youth were recognized for their achievements for the year. 4-H'ers will be serving a roast beef dinner at the Central North Dakota Steam Threshers Reunion the weekend of September 21.

It was decided at the September Sheyenne City Council meeting that another roll out dumpster will be available near the Sheyenne Fire Hall this fall. Residents will be able to dispose of larger items that don't fit in their home garbage containers.

Gavin Brown is finishing up the exterior painting on the old Sinclair Station on Main Street, Sheyenne. Having fresh paint and windows is a remarkable improvement – can't wait to see what he does inside!

Lowell Larson led the joint Sheyenne/Oberon/Grandfield church service and Mauritz Carlson gave the sermon at Grace Lutheran Church on September 8. Deb Zieman played familiar hymns for the congregation to sing.

Peter and Patti Larson, Wanda Bouret and LuAnn Nyhusmoen enjoyed the taco bar at Festival Hall in Fessenden Sunday evening. N.D. governor and lieutenant governor candidates, Merrill Piepkorn and Patrick Hart, visited with attendees, gave stump speeches and answered questions, along with U.S. congressional candidates Katrina Christiansen and Trygve Hammer. Cathy Jelsing and Mark Nelson, Dem-NPL candidates for N.D. District 14 (which includes Sheyenne), also introduced themselves at the event.

A Woodrow family reunion was held at the Brian and Pam Hill summer home in Minnewaukan over the past weekend. Attending were Brian and Pam Hill, Jim and Marjean Woodrow, all of Grand Forks; Jerry and Susan Woodrow of New Berlin, Wisc.; Rob and Shannon Williamson, Elgin, S.C.; and Jan and Steph Loe of Sheyenne. It was a great weekend of catching up with family and reminiscing about growing up with Bud and Gladys Woodrow. A special part of the reunion was a belated wedding celebration for Rob and Shannon, complete with a wedding cake and best wishes!

Dianne Hanson called bingo, Randy Keller and Michelle Gilley sold cards and Patti Larson sold lunch for Sheyenne GRIT at last Saturday's bingo at Ostby Hall. Blackout did not go out, so it will be $200 this Saturday, Sept. 14, when GRIT again hosts.

Gates Township held a special meeting to discuss gravel needs for roads. Kent Myhre, Travis Benson, Tyler Messner and Peter Larson met at Ostby Hall Monday morning.
