New Rockford and area folks extend sympathy to the family of Pearl Eldridge.

Charlotte Koepplin received a phone call from cousin Ardy Yates Birkholz recently. Ardy is a helper at a local fair each year and has been known to enter some of her recipes in baking contests. This year she is the proud winner of three blue ribbons for her cookie recipes. Congratulations, Ardy.

On Friday, Dave Gabbert and daughter Cheryl came from their home in Minnesota to pick up mom, Shirley Packard, at Carrington Medical Center and bring her home to New Rockford. Dave and Cheryl were here until Monday when they went back home. Shirley is doing fine.

Visitors recently at the Ken and Marvis Holte home were son Loren Holte of Bismarck and daughter Amanda Bickett of Carrington. Marvis' sister, Penny Sorrells of Minneapolis, called Sunday for a family catch up.

Congratulations to Ryan and Laura Hager on the birth of baby boy Keaton John on September 18, 2024. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 1 ounce and joins four brothers and one sister. The Hagers now have their baseball team.

Glenn Cudworth celebrated his 88th birthday Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Heritage House dining hall. Daughter Diane Yri hosted a baked salmon supper for family and friends.

Saturday found Shirley Packard, Dave and Cheryl Gabbert enjoying dinner at the Chieftain in Carrington.

Charlotte Koepplin enjoyed a phone call Friday from Carol Clancy of Thompson; Carol is doing fine recuperating from recent back surgery.

Friday found Karen Koepplin and Allyssa Lewis, Grady and Kenna in Mandan, N.D. taking in the first performance of the North Dakota Rough Rider Rodeo.

Eloise Lucht is proud to announce she is the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren. Number 15 is Oswald Lucht, born to John and Allisa Lucht. John is the son of Alan and Julie Lucht.

Friday found great-grandchildren Grady and Kenna Lewis among others of Central Steam Threshers to help Frederick Allmaras and Kevin Johnson pick potatoes as they were being dug. There was a good potato crop this year.
