Rockets get first region win in Fessenden

The New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets played their first Region 4 game of the season on Thursday, Sept. 26 against the Harvey/Wells County Hornets in Fessenden.
After defeating Drake/Anamoose on Tuesday, the Rockets were itching for another win.
And boy-oh-boy did they get their win.
The Rockets came out ferocious in the first set, taking it 25-11 and once again in set two 25-18.
However, in set three, the Rockets allowed the Hornets to pull away with a 25-19 win.
The Rockets came back stinging with a 25-19 win to take the Region 4 win.
NR-S junior Ava Peterson had an all-time best night at the net, earning a total of 33 kills over the Hornets. Emmie Belquist followed behind with six and Jaida Schumacher added four. Braylee Keller and Christalea Wagner led the Hornets with seven and five, respectively.
The Rockets had four athletes earn double digits in digs – Logan Cudworth with 16, Peterson with 14, Kaiya O'Connor with 13 and Belquist 10. Just like the Rockets, the Hornets also had multiple girls with digs in double digits. Rachel Neumiller and Keller each earned 13, Kali Fike had 12 and Brooklyn Dockter had 11.
The Rockets b-squad and c-squad each won one set against the Hornets, and fell short in two taking a tough loss. The junior high Rockets both fell 0-2.
