Rocket runners at 30th annual Rugby Booster Club Invitational

The New Rockford-Sheyenne cross country team traveled to Rugby on Saturday, Oct. 5 to compete in the 30th Annual Rugby Booster Club Invitational.

Top placers for the Rockets were Elise Guler in the varsity girls, Gabe Smith in the varsity boys and August Meier in the junior varsity boys.

Guler finished in 47th place in the varsity girls division with a time of 23:54.17. Smith on the other hand finished 55th overall with a time of 20:22.67.

Meier placed 18th overall in the junior varsity boys division with a time of 14:07.31.

Liza Steele, Katie Cleveland, Seth Greiner and Jacob Cleveland also competed at the meet.

Steele and K. Cleveland competed in the varsity girls division and finished 55th and 116th, respectively. Greiner took 155th place in the varsity boys division and J. Cleveland finished in 41st place of the junior varsity boys division.

The Rockets were set to compete in the North Dakota Class B East Regional Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 12 in Cooperstown.

Results from this meet will be included in the October 21 edition of the New Rockford Transcript.
