Warwick careers class learns about baking, construction

On Monday, Oct. 7, John and Kelly McKnight from Bakers Dozen in New Rockford went and talked to the Warwick careers class about how to run and own a bakery. They said they start around 4 a.m. every morning and work until around 6 p.m. They told the students how to tell if the bread dough is ready and how they make it raise. They also showed them how they make roses for cakes and let the kids try, plus had the kids decorate cookies. The class is invited to come down after the new year and become bakers for an hour.

On Thursday, Oct. 10 the Warwick careers class went to Iron Hide of Devils Lake and were able to run a small track hoe after they had been recently learning about heavy equipment and road construction.
