Shirley Ann (Larson) Gillig passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, N.D., at the age of 83.

Shirley's visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024 from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. all at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. Pastor Jeff Halvorson officiated the service with special recorded music, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Precious Memories." Honorary bearers were all of Shirley's family and friends.

Shirley was born Feb. 24, 1941, at home in Sheyenne, N.D., to John and Irene Larson. Shirley attended school in Sheyenne, N.D.

Shirley enjoyed spending time at home with family and friends; she also enjoyed playing cards, board games, going to the casino, and going for early morning walks until she wasn't able to anymore.

In 1991, she reunited and married her first love, Carl Gillig. They spent their years enjoying life to the fullest, they were never seen far from each other.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sherry Larson and Sara (Joseph) Dunn of Jamestown, N.D.; a brother, Rodney Larson of Sheyenne, N.D.; two sisters, Jennie Wilson of Georgia and Bonnie Larson of Sheyenne, N.D.; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Ell of Sheyenne, N.D.; four grandchildren, Felix Littlewind, Breanna Larson, Shayle Larson and Raymond Dunn; great-grandchildren, Maeson and Hayden Larson; and adopted granddaughter, Korrin Lies, all in Jamestown N.D.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene; her husband, Carl Gillig; a brother, Jerry Larson; two sisters, Margaret Manning and Dolly Bellon; and a grandson, Jerome Dunn.
