Anderson resigns from Eddy County Soil Conservation

After eight years of dedicated service to the Eddy County community, Shannon Anderson, District Manager of the Eddy County Soil Conservation District, has announced her departure to take on a new position with the Nelson County Farm Service Agency (FSA).

“I want to thank Eddy County for allowing me the opportunity to serve you over the last eight years,” Anderson said in a letter to the community. “It has been a true pleasure to contribute to conservation efforts by planting and selling trees, and I’m proud to see my work flourishing within the community.”

During her tenure, Anderson’s leadership helped the district foster environmental conservation through tree planting initiatives that have left a lasting impact on local landscapes. Her efforts in promoting sustainable practices were met with enthusiastic support from residents and landowners alike.

“I’ve been so blessed with the friendships I’ve made here and how welcoming everyone has been,” Anderson added. “I’ll miss each of you and will always cherish the fond memories of our time together.”

Anderson’s role at the Eddy County Soil Conservation District has been marked by a commitment to environmental stewardship, and her departure comes as a bittersweet moment for the community.

She encouraged residents to continue supporting conservation efforts, particularly tree planting.

“I encourage everyone to keep planting trees,” Anderson said. “It’s a lasting gift for our future generations.”

As she transitions to her new role at the Nelson County FSA, Anderson expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to have worked in Eddy County and her best wishes for the community's continued success in conservation efforts.

Anderson’s leadership and dedication will be missed, but her impact on the community will be felt for years to come.
