Next generation takes over local used car dealership
Anyone driving through New Rockford recently has likely noticed a considerable increase in cars parked outside NAPA Auto Parts along Highway 281.
That's because T&T Auto Sales, New Rockford's only local used car dealership, is in the midst of a significant revamp.
Todd Duchscherer – the owner of NAPA and Do It Best Hardware in New Rockford – had been operating T&T Auto Sales with his brother Troy since they opened the business about 20 years ago, but it was largely something to do on the side.
Todd said they only ever sold a few used vehicles here and there, and there certainly wasn't a large selection of vehicles on their lot to choose from.
However, that's changed recently as Todd's son, Matthew, has now taken over management of the business.
Matthew recently graduated from Bismarck State College with a degree in welding, but he's always loved automobiles and when he got back from college he decided to put his efforts toward expanding his family's car business.
"I've always been into vehicles and my whole childhood I've always worked on stuff in the shop," said Matthew. "And after doing welding in college I decided I didn't really want to go that route in life, so I decided to get bigger into cars with this."
He only began this summer, but since then he's already grown their lot considerably to its current size of 18 vehicles, and Matthew said he plans to increase that number to around 20 or 25 in the near future.
"We've never had this many cars," said Todd. "Maybe four or five before, but never this many."
T&T Auto Sales has also seen a ton of interest from the community in recent months, and Matthew said they've made some great sales this summer and fall.
They've sold about 20 vehicles already, he said, and are averaging one or two cars sold per week. Comparatively, Todd said he and his brother used to sell eight or 10 cars a year.
In addition to more inventory, they've also got a new website – t-tautosales.com – where customers can see their inventory of vehicles, along with their asking price and important information such as mileage and engine specifications.
Among the vehicles currently listed on their website are a 2016 Ram 1500 with only 70,000 miles on it, as well as 2020 Ford F-150 with about 83,000 miles.
Customers can also get pre-qualified on the new website, schedule a test drive or even get an estimated value for their trade-in.
And of course, anyone interested can still get in touch the old fashion way – by simply walking into NAPA or by contacting Matthew via phone at (701) 650-6041.
Matthew added that they can do financing, extended warranties, and can source vehicles even if they're not currently available on the lot in New Rockford.
He's even offering a special deal this month for the holidays – a gift card with four free car washes at Rocket Wash for any vehicle purchased between now and the first of the year.
Anyone interested in seeing what's available is encouraged to stop by and check out the many new local options for used vehicles in New Rockford, and Matthew said he's more than happy to help his customers find their next car.
"I've enjoyed meeting new people and it's always nice to see people excited about buying a new car," said Matthew. "I know I'm always excited to buy a new pickup or car, and it's pretty fun watching other people get excited about it too and getting to help them with that."
