Leland Ray Jensen, age 76, of New Rockford, N.D., died Sunday, December 15, 2024, at CHI St. Alexius in Carrington, N.D.

Leland's visitation was held Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024 from 1-5 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 20 from 9-10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., all at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

His burial will be at the Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.

Rev. Amy Kippen officiated. Recorded music was "Precious Lord Take My Hand," "On Eagle's Wings," and "Softly and Tenderly."

Leland Jensen was born December 6, 1948 in New Rockford, N.D., to Vernon and Lorraine (Ferguson) Jensen. He graduated from New Rockford Central High School. He worked most of his life as a heavy equipment operator.

Leland was united in marriage to Patricia Kaul in 1972 and a son Tony was born to this union.

Leland was a member of First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bingo and playing cards and was an avid football fan.

He is survived by his son, Tony (Tricia Kandt) of Fargo; one granddaughter, McKenzie (Tyler) Seaburg of Carrington; one grandson, Kaden of Jamestown; a great-grandson, Sawyer Hochhalter of Carrington; one sister, Beverly Lesmeister of New Rockford and one nephew, Corey (Kathy) Lesmeister of Sykeston.

Leland was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lorraine; his brothers, Larry and LaVern; grandparents, Alfred and Gilma Jensen, and Kenneth and Violet Ferguson.
