Vivian Rimmereid

Vivian (Gedrose) Rimmereid, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, N.D.
Visitation was held Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, from noon-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m., all at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford, N.D.
She was buried at the Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.
Rev. Amy Kippen officiated, with special music played by pianist Kerstin Allmaras. Katie Allmaras and Hallie Brown sang "On Eagle's Wings" and "When Peace Like A River." Michael Gehrtz played "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" on piano.
Pallbearers were Todd Rimmereid, Nicole Rimmereid, Daniel Ackerman, Casey Ackerman, Jessica Sencindiver, Matthew Gehrtz and Michael Gehrtz.
Honorary Bearers were Vivienne Gehrtz, Solveij Gehrtz, Reyla Mae Gehrtz, Lucas Sencindiver, Ivor Gehrtz, Peder Gehrtz and Svea Gehrtz.
Vivian was born December 26, 1930, in rural Cathay, N.D., the daughter of John and Thekla Gunhilda (Bryne) Gedrose. She was baptized at Stavanger Lutheran Church, Cathay, ND and confirmed at the First Lutheran Church of New Rockford. She attended school in Fairville Township, Wells County until 1941. She then moved with her family near Brantford and attended Columbia Consolidated High School, and in 1949 she graduated from New Rockford High School.
Vivian worked with abstracts for Surety Title Company until she married Daniel Rimmereid on September 24,1950. She loved working alongside Daniel on their family farm. Vivian was active in the Tiffany Ladies Aid and Homemaker Clubs, Y Janes Birthday Club, Red Hats, and an active member of the First Lutheran Church. In 1980 they moved from the farm to a new home in New Rockford.
She loved baking, caring for her vegetable and flower gardens, serving her family, playing cards and games, quilting, family camping trips and traveling throughout America, Canada and Europe. Vivian had a love for family and took immense pride in attending her seven grandchildrens' events of all kinds. Her loving husband of 66 years, Daniel, passed away in May of 2017.
Vivian is survived by two sons, Dennis (Luann) Rimmereid of New Rockford, N.D. and Jerrold Rimmereid, Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Jeanette (Steve) Ackerman of Wahpeton, N.D. and Elaine (Steve) Gehrtz of Fargo, N.D.; seven grandchildren, Todd Rimmereid, Nikky Rimmereid, Dan (Laura) Ackerman, Casey (Winter) Ackerman, Jessica (Ben) Sencindiver, Matthew (Kjerstin) Gehrtz and Michael (Bryanna) Gehrtz; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her parents; her sisters, Olga (Clarence) Sielig, Tillie (Glenn) Collier, Julia (LeRoy) Gross, Gerda (Donald) Backman and Erna Gedrose and brothers, Emil (Bernadine) Gedrose and John (Barbara) Gedrose.
