Obituary: Marvin Nordlinder

Marvin Nordlinder passed away Dec. 15, 2024 at the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon, N.D.

He was the eighth of 10 children born to John and Evelyn (Harrum) Nordlinder on Aug. 4, 1943 at New Rockford, N.D. In 1947 the family moved to Verona, where he attended school and worked on the family farm while growing up. In August 1963, he entered the U.S. Army. After his discharge at the rank of PFC1, Marvin worked as a mechanic for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash. Marvin and his wife Belva also lived in California and Arizona before moving to Fargo, N.D. In 1982, they moved to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon, where Marvin found a welcoming community with wonderful people and activities he enjoyed for many years.

He is survived by one brother Donald (Nancy) Nordlinder of Wasilla, Alaska and numerous nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Norman, Arnold, Roger, Dennis, Delores Lucht, Bernice Pritchard, Norma Hoover and Marlys Raatz.

A graveside committal service with Military Honors will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Fargo. Please check back for the date and time.

Burial with military honors will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery near Fargo. Arrangements by Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes, N.D.
