Foundation fundraiser Feb. 21
On Friday, Feb. 21, the New Rockford Community Foundation will once again host its annual fundraiser at the local Eagles Club.
This year, however, there won't be any intense feuding among community members.
Instead of competing in 'The Feud,' the community foundation is bringing in Duelly Noted as the evening's entertainment this year.
Duelly Noted is a sassy, one-of-a-kind, interactive dueling pianos act. The act is performed by Cassondra Lea and Jacy Smith, who have a charismatic connection on stage and have been best friends off-stage for over 15 years.
Together they engage audiences of all demographics while performing their favorite hits from the 60s to today, as well as some of their own original music.
Throughout their show they even utilize a "text your request" feature to make it easy for the audience to let them know what they want to hear.
Jacy and Cass met each other while attending the McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, Minn., and since then they've performed all over the United States.
Their unique show promises to be great entertainment for the always-popular fundraiser which begins at 5 p.m. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. and the entertainment will follow at 7:30 p.m.
The cost of the meal and entertainment is $50 per person, and meal options are steak bites and potato or shrimp alfredo. Tickets are available at Bank Forward and City Hall.
All proceeds from the event go to New Rockford's community endowment fund. The principal of the fund is never touched, and the earnings from the fund are given out in grants to support local projects each spring. The fund balance has grown to over $200,000, and the foundation board has given out over $51,000 in grants from the earnings.
